Oh, brother!
The little one, being in Kindergarten, comes home earlier from school than big brother. He is pretty good about keeping himself occupied. He would read, play and watch some TV (no judging here). We would sometimes have a friend over to play. And every now and then, I would find something online that seems fun for him to do. Today, I decided to part with some of my contact lens solution, finish off a bottle of Elmer's glue and make slime.
Since we didn't have a whole bottle of glue on hand, I used this recipe that only calls for half a cup of glue. The slime turned out sticky so we added a little bit more baking soda and contact lens solution. The longer we had it the more solid and "playable" it became. Then it was time to pick up big brother. We put the slime in an air-tight container and head out.
As soon as we come home, Kieran excitedly announced that we made slime. He brought the container with the slime to the table and let his brother touch and play. All should be well...SHOULD. I look over from getting snacks together to see this.
He was perfectly fine playing with the slime for an hour or so. Stirring it up with the plastic spoon, running it through his hands...just playing. Then in the five minutes that we've been home Sean tells Kieran to put it on his head and the slime ends up in his hair.
My first thought was "Oh sh*t, we have to buzz his hair off. It's picture day in two days!" John walks by and says, "Just buzz it off." But I didn't want to buzz it off.
So I try using the bigger glob to pick up the glob in his hair...didn't work. Tried to see if it will rinse off with water...worked a little bit. Tried John's idea of using Googone...better, but I was scared of getting it in his eyes/face. So we hop in the shower to try to get the last little bit off and it worked. Whew, crisis averted!
Take away from this situation, it doesn't take long for the two of them to get into trouble. I shudder just thinking of what they will egg each other to do in the future. Oh, brother!
